Reimagined Origin

On July 16th, 1945, as the United States successfully tested the first nuclear bomb, an unintended consequence occurred. The resulting shockwaves tore through the fabric of spacetime, creating a ripple that reverberated across the cosmos.

Unbeknownst to humanity, this event caught the attention of an ancient and mysterious being: Stardust the Superwizard.

In the depths of the cosmos, Stardust the Superwizard harnessed the raw energy of a distant supernova. Channeling the unfathomable power contained within, he crafted an intricate matrix of cosmic energy that he would use to nurture their development and safeguard them from harm. Sensing the potential danger that Earth now posed, he chose to intervene, hoping to guide the planet’s inhabitants toward a more benevolent path.

Descending to Earth in a blaze of shimmering light, Stardust adopted a human form to better understand the people he sought to protect. As he wandered the Earth, he witnessed the triumphs and tragedies of the human race, marveling at their resilience and capacity for both love and destruction.

In time, Stardust began to reveal himself, using his vast powers to avert disasters, halt wars, and inspire acts of heroism, or so he thought.

As Stardust’s presence became known, humanity found itself divided. Some revered him as a savior, a beacon of hope in an increasingly uncertain world. Others, however, viewed him with suspicion, fearing that his incredible powers could be used to manipulate or control the fate of their planet.

Only time would tell which direction Stardust would take.

Publication History

Stardust the Super Wizard is a character from the Golden Age of Comics. The character’s creator was Fletcher Hanks, a notable and somewhat eccentric comic book artist known for his bizarre and surreal storytelling. Stardust the Super Wizard made his first appearance in Fantastic Comics #1, which was published by Fox Feature Syndicate in December 1939.

Stardust is a unique and highly powerful superhero, with a vast array of abilities that often seem to border on the omnipotent. His real identity is unknown, and he hails from a distant star where he observes the universe, ready to intervene when he sees injustice. He’s capable of numerous feats, such as size alteration, flight, super strength, invulnerability, and the ability to produce a variety of weapons and tools from thin air.

Stardust’s adventures were often strange and featured highly imaginative, if not outright bizarre, narrative elements. The character’s enemies were often nefarious criminals or power-hungry dictators who were dealt with in an array of creative and often severe ways.

Fletcher Hanks worked in the comic industry for only a few years, from 1939 to 1941. During that time, Stardust appeared in 16 issues of Fantastic Comics, as well as other Fox titles. After Hanks left the industry, Stardust effectively vanished from the comic scene.
