Reimagined Origin

Skomah, the seventh child of a brilliant but mad scientist, was the subject of his father’s groundbreaking experiment. From an early age, his father injected Skomah’s brain with a serum designed to enhance its abilities and grant him unparalleled intelligence.

The serum was a success, causing Skomah’s intellect to skyrocket. However, it had an unintended side effect: his head grew rapidly in size, requiring external support to prevent it from collapsing under its own weight.

At first, Skomah was a kind and compassionate person. Yet as his head and intelligence continued to expand, his personality began to alter. He developed a burning hatred of mankind and an ambition to rule the universe, believing that only he possessed the intellect necessary to shape it into perfection.

As Skomah’s telepathic abilities and advanced technology allowed him to wreak havoc on Earth, he became increasingly torn by the changes within himself. He recognized that his actions were causing immeasurable suffering to innocent lives, but felt powerless to stop himself.

His father, devastated by the unintended consequences of the serum, tried to reason with Skomah and convince him to abandon his destructive ambitions. Despite his efforts, Skomah’s evolving personality and twisted sense of purpose prevailed, and he continued on his dark path.

The internal conflict that raged within Skomah only fueled his descent into darkness. He desperately sought a solution to his growing instability, but ultimately, his inability to control his own mind led to even greater chaos.

Publication History

Skomah is a character created by Fletcher Hanks under the pseudonym Hank Christy. This mad Martian scientist made his first appearance in “”Fantastic Comics #1″”, published in December 1939 by Fox Features Syndicate. Skomah was born with an immense intellect, a result of being the 7th son of the Great Skomah who had strived to give his offspring a brain so superior that it would be infallible. However, this came at a cost – Skomah’s oversized head required external support.

“”Fantastic Comics”” was a comic book series also published by Fox Features Syndicate, one of the many publishers active during the Golden Age of comics. It started in December 1939 and ran for 23 issues until November 1941. This anthology series was known for its wild and outlandish stories, filled with bizarre creatures and characters, and fantastical adventures, a perfect home for characters as unique as Skomah.
