Professor Fenton first appeared in Thrilling Comics #4, published by Nedor in May 1940.
Professor Fenton was a character marked by his genius but plagued by his madness. His ambitious goal was no less than world domination, and in pursuit of this aim, he created a time machine.
“”Thrilling Comics”” was a comic book series published by Nedor Publishing, an imprint of Standard/Better/Nedor Publishing, which was active during the Golden Age of comics. The series had a run from 1940 to 1951, producing a total of 80 issues. The series was an anthology, featuring a wide range of characters and genres, from superheroes to westerns, and even science fiction. Some notable characters that appeared in “”Thrilling Comics”” include The Black Terror, The Woman in Red, and Doc Strange.
Professor Fenton’s journey began as a brilliant scientist with a strong desire to benefit humanity. After years of research, he made a groundbreaking discovery about the nature of time travel. Driven by the dream of reshaping history to eliminate suffering and injustice, Fenton used his newfound knowledge to build a time machine.
Fenton soon realized that he could only alter time in specific ways. Major events seemed resistant to change, while minor adjustments were possible. Despite his best efforts, he was unable to save his daughter from a terminal illness. His growing obsession with power and his deteriorating morality led him to exploit the subtleties of time manipulation further. He strategically altered minor events to advance his own agenda, all while avoiding the attention of the superheroes in the larger universe who might have stopped him.
With each small change, Professor Fenton’s influence grew, and his actions started to have far-reaching consequences. He became a master of the butterfly effect, carefully orchestrating a series of seemingly inconsequential alterations that culminated in significant shifts in power and the course of history.
As Fenton continued on this path, he transformed from a well-intentioned scientist into a corrupted villain. Consumed by his desire for power and haunted by the loss of his daughter, he now uses his mastery of time manipulation to further his personal ambitions, even if it means risking the stability of the entire timeline.
