The Mad Monk was created by Joe Blair in 1942 for MLJ. The Mad Monk controlled the fate of people after discovering the secret to cheating death, and fate itself.
MLJ was a publishing company that played a significant role in the early days of American comic books. It was initially founded by Maurice Coyne, Louis Silberkleit, and John Goldwater in 1939. The name “”MLJ”” is an acronym derived from the initials of the founders’ names.
MLJ primarily focused on publishing superhero comics during the Golden Age of Comics, which spanned from the late 1930s to the early 1950s.
The Mad Monk was a mythical figure shrouded in mystery and legend. Some said he was a powerful sorcerer who had discovered the secrets of the universe, while others claimed he was a madman who had made a deal with the devil himself.
According to the myth, the Mad Monk was once an ordinary monk who lived in a remote mountain monastery. One day, Death came to take him away, but the monk was not ready to die. He had discovered an ancient secret that gave him the power to control human fate.

However, in modern times, some claim that the Mad Monk is still alive and using his powers to meddle with the fate of his victims. They say he can be found in the shadows, whispering curses and casting spells to manipulate the course of events.
