Publication History
Dr. Fung first appeared in Wonder Comics #1, published in May 1939 by Fox Feature Syndicate. The character was created by writer and artist Bob Powell, who used the pseudonym Arthur Dean for this particular work.
Dr. Fung is an Asian-American detective and criminologist, known for his exceptional intelligence, observational skills, and martial arts abilities. He uses these talents to solve crimes and bring criminals to justice, often relying on his keen intuition and expertise in various scientific disciplines.
Wonder Comics was an anthology series that featured a variety of adventure, mystery, and superhero stories. Dr. Fung was one of the main features of the series, appearing alongside characters such as Yarko the Great, Don Glory, and Captain Kidd.
Dr. Fung’s adventures continued in several issues of Wonder Comics and later transitioned to other Fox Feature Syndicate titles, such as Wonderworld Comics and Fantastic Comics.
