Reimagined Origin

John Dickering, fueled by an ambition for fame and power, had a big idea. He believed that becoming a renowned superhero could pave his way to a successful political career, eventually leading to the presidency. However, he lacked the scientific knowledge to make this dream a reality. His younger brother, Bob, was the genius in the family, often overshadowed by John’s ambitions.

Seeing an opportunity to collaborate and help his older brother, Bob used his intellect to devise a method to grant John superpowers. After months of research, he successfully synthesized a serum using a rare, extraterrestrial element that could enhance natural abilities.

John, trusting his brother’s smarts and talents, injected himself with the serum. The results were astonishing. He gained the power of flight and the ability to emit powerful laser beams from his hands. With these newfound abilities, John embraced the superhero persona “”Comet”” and began his ascension toward fame, ultimately aiming to become the President.

As John’s fame grew, so did Bob’s jealousy and resentment. Feeling overshadowed and underappreciated, Bob devised a plan to humiliate his big brother and put him in his place. He struck a deal with a dangerous criminal named Big Boy Malone, promising to deliver Comet in exchange for a share of Malone’s power and influence.

Bob manipulated John into walking into a trap, leading him to believe that he was on a mission to stop Big Boy Malone’s latest criminal scheme. Unbeknownst to John, it was all a set-up. When Comet arrived at the designated location, he was ambushed by Malone and his gang.

Bob had intended only to humiliate his brother, not realizing that Malone had far more sinister plans. Big Boy Malone saw the opportunity to eliminate a powerful superhero who posed a threat to his criminal empire. Seizing the moment, Malone and his gang brutally murdered John, ending the life of Comet.

When Bob discovered the horrific outcome of his betrayal, he was overwhelmed with guilt and regret. Realizing the terrible mistake he had made, he vowed to seek justice for his brother and bring down the criminals who had taken his life. Adopting the persona of the Hangman, he embarked on a quest for redemption, using his own intellect and determination to avenge John’s death and honor his memory.
